So many choices, phone calls, errands, and tears...yes tears, especially those few weeks before the wedding!! Seeing how much they had to do made me not want a big wedding, ever! But we'll see when the time comes haha! It was definitely a summer full of weddings but it was so much fun to see and be a part of my two best friend's weddings. Here is everything we did related to Nicole getting married...
Bridal Shower
Erin and I threw Nicole a Recipe Shower since Nicole loves to cook. Everyone had to bring a recipe along with a gift to tie into the recipe. It was creative and fun to see what everyone came up with. I don't cook so I gave her a mixing bowl, a spatula, an apron, and some pancake mix. My recipe was on the back of the box haha! And I wrote a poem to go along with it which was so hilarious! We ate yummy breakfast food, played some games getting to know Nicole and Spencer, and opened presents. It was so much fun and I hope everyone enjoyed it!
Bachelorette Party
For Nicole's Bachelorette Party we went up to Park City and stayed at The Canyons Resort. We got up there and went to dinner at Baja Cantina. We ate out on the patio and everyone knew it was a Bachelorette Party from Nicole's fine head wear haha! Then we went back to the room, opened presents, swam (for 10 minutes until the security guard kicked us out), then took a bunch of funny pictures, talked and ate junk food, went on a McDonald's run for their hot fudge sundaes, then back to the room and talked until we all crashed! It was a such a fun night!!
Wedding Day
Her wedding day was such a wonderful day! Erin and I spent the night at her mom's house and woke up nice and early to get ready. It was soooo hot in the basement and I was rushing so I was sweating all my make-up off. I took a book to fan myself, in the process sizzled (and I use that word because that is exactly what it sounded like) my forehead, hurried and got ready and ran out the door with Erin and Lizzie down to Temple Square and made perfect timing to see her and Spencer come out of the temple!
Nicole and Spencer looked so happy and are now going to be together for eternity! We took pictures around Temple Square and then Erin and I went to the brunch at Biaggi's at The Gateway. We sat next to Katie and Clay which was so much fun talking to them and getting to know Clay better. Those two are adorable together! We had to give speeches and I was soooo nervous! Erin had no idea what she was going to say and I wrote mine like 4 days prior and she did a great job and I ended up pulling mine off too! We watched their wedding slideshow after we ate and then it was off to go home and change for the
reception. We went back up to Erin's house and sat down for a little bit and then got ready again to leave and go help set everything up. Setting up was so much fun and it looked absolutely beautiful. She had a dance floor, great food, a fun band, yummy cake, an amazing photographer, a light rain (which turned out to be a pretty addition and not disastrous, thank goodness), beautiful flowers everywhere, bird cage & teacup centerpieces, a happy bride and groom, and of course friends and family. It was a party! I have got to say that I have the most amazing friends ever! We all danced that night to "Everything" by Michael Buble and I'm sure we looked like freaks as we danced around Nicole singing "La la la la" at the top of our lungs, but we aren't freaks at all...just 7 best friends who love each other and had just started a new wedding tradition. Yes, we will now sing "Everything" at the top of our lungs
while dancing around like crazy at the remaining girls weddings! I can hardly wait (hurry up Brooke) haha! We had a blast talking with friends, meeting Kin's bf, eating those delicious pot stickers which I'm sure I had at least 8 of, decorating the vespa and then laughing super hard as we tried to push it in and up by the tree, dancing with friends...and the singer of the band haha! The night came to an end as we watched Nicole and Spencer drive speed away to enjoy being husband and wife in Cancun! I love them both and wish them the best of luck in life!!
