Drive Safe

I know that the snow storms are close to over, or so we thought so, but please drive safe during those snow storms! At about midnight last night I was on my way down to Salt Lake with my dad. The snow was coming down really hard and we were going very slow. Next thing we knew the truck just up ahead of us slid over a few lanes hit the median and then flipped over and landed on it's side. We immediately pulled over in front of them, I called 911, and my dad jumped out to go help them. Highway Patrol was sent out and on their way. As I jumped out to go help all I could think of was another car sliding off and hitting us. The bottom of the truck was facing traffic so we weren't able to see any of the traffic coming our way. My dad had the same worry! I ran up to the truck laying flipped on its driver side praying for  the best but expecting the worst. As I got closer my dad yelled to me that there was a baby. It was a young couple with their little 10 month old baby girl in the back seat. The mom was able to unbuckle herself and get the baby's car seat unbuckled and fit out the window. My dad had made sure that no one was pinned or severely injured as I took the baby back to the truck to keep her warm. As I uncovered her form her blankets I was so happy to see this sweet smiling baby unharmed! Ah it was such a relief!! She was just as calm as could be as she played with her toy and I fed her cheerios. The firetruck and ambulance got there quick and pulled out the mom and dad. The dad walked away with a scraped up arm, the mom had a hurt shoulder, and everyone was just pretty shaken up! You never think you'll witness a crash like that. It was a scary thing to be involved in but glad we could help them. That sweet family is so lucky and they were all wearing their seat belts. I am so thankful no one was severely hurt and that my dad and I were able to stay safe while helping them.
Just a reminder to Drive Slow in the snow and Buckle Up...
You never know what could happen!!
