Kenny Chesney 2009

So this is officially my first blog and I am so excited that it gets to be about the Kenny Chesney Concert that I went to last night! I am a huge country music fan along with my best friend, Erin. So when we heard he was coming we were so excited (even though we got out tickets last minute)! We were lucky to get them for $80 instead of their original price of $125, because we bought them last minute! Procrastinating actually worked out for me for once! So Erin and I were so thrilled to see not only Kenny Chesney but Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, and Miranda Lambert!! I love them all! Erin and I both got off work around 5:30 which was what time the opening acts started, so we both rushed home to hurry and change into our "pre-chosen" outfits and take off again. Then we sadly found out that Sugarland was cancelled because the female lead singer lost her voice. After stopping for gas and food, I quickly drove us to the concert with Erin screaming as I swerved in and out of traffic haha No, she actually did pretty good this time. She didn't scream, only closed her eyes and took deep breathes! Oh Erin I love you! hehe But we made it there safely...but to find out we had just missed Lady Antebellum :( Sad, I know! But we found our seats which were pretty close to the stage and we sat next to these two totally wasted couples! Oh boy!! Since we weren't HUGE Miranda Lambert fans and she was performing, we decided to walk around in the scorching 104 degree weather! But we so happy when we ran into our good friend Emily Connolly who was there with her adorable boyfriend, Cade! They are so cute together :) We made our way through all the nasty, drunk, shirtless, booty shakin men (though I can't complain...some of them were really hot!) and sat back in our seats to enjoy the end of Miranda's performance. Then came Kenny Chesney! What a good lookin guy with a fine behind and a sexy tractor! He put on an amazing show! I wish he would have had a different selection of songs though. He didn't play all of his good ones which was kind of disappointing BUT we were quite entertained by our new wasted friends who kept offering to take our picture for us haha Erin and I love taking pictures and we took quite a bit of them! Then the concert came to an end and Kenny stayed up on stage (as he wore a red Utah Utes hat) to sign autographs! As he was walking around signing things for his fans, one of his apparent #1 fans jumped up on stage and started running towards him! Everyone watched on the big screen as this brave girl chased him while all the security guys chased her, and Kenny ran! Then once the security guys grabbed her, Kenny said "Ok, ok let her give me a hug!" And she gave him a great big hug and a kiss on the head! What a brave and super lucky girl! I guess she figured she had nothing to lose since the concert was over anyways! So after making our way to the car we drove along State Street to find a gas station to get some nice cold drinks. Along the way we found ourselves some nice hot guys instead! After cruising our way down state street, talking to the 55 year old married men(...no they did NOT get my number), and Erin telling all the guys they were idiots, we got our drinks and went home to laugh and talk until we fell asleep. The night overall was sooo much fun! I was pretty sad we missed Lady Antebellum and that Sugarland cancelled, but I got see Kenny and sing country music at the top of my lungs with my BFFFFFFF! Thanks Erin for going with me haha I love you! You are such a great friend!!
